Downhill's Park
Downhill's Park was awarded the Prestigious Green Flag Award in 2006 & 2007. This is a hidden gem of a park with a large open area with many huge Oak trees surrounding the border, but when you venture east through the park you will discover the formal gardens. Today the elegance and sophistication of the early nineteenth century design still remains. The ornamental Italian Gardens located at the heart of the Park, made up of rose beds and annual bedding, are a favourite with many park users. The nearby tennis courts, hard ball area and bowling green are set amongst beautiful trees and landscaped gardens.

Finsbury Park
Finsbury Park was awarded the prestigious Green Flag Award in July 2007 - It has been looking good since receiving ?5m Heritage Lottery Funding and has had a recent transformation due to the successful restoration and improvement work.

This grade II listed park was officially opened in 1869. With the Heritage Lottery Funding many of the Parks original features have been restored to their former glory, this includes the re-landscaping of the American Garden and Alexandra McKenzie's historical flower gardens, which now once again reflects much of his original design that was lost for many years.

New facilities have been carefully added to modernise the park for modern living requirements, but it has to be said that the changes seamlessly integrate, and even compliment the historic features of the park.

The park offers a range of sporting facilities and you can find out more by visiting the local authority website and even take the Virtual Tour
